Staff is hospitalised from 28/4 to 2/5/25 (include 1 day public holiday) and hospital's letter suggested rest day from 3/5 to 16/6.
Staff is attending physiotherapy rehabilitation for recovery and receive MC from 6/6 to 30/6.
Between 28/4 to 30/6, there are a 4 public holidays such as Labour Day, Wesak Day, Hari Raya Haji, Awal Muharam and there are 15 Sat and Sun ==> Total 19 days
Staff is paid monthly salary including on public holiday.
Prior to this hospitalisation leave, staff has taken 1 day of sick leave before.
Staff is paid monthly salary which means already paid on non working days.
Calculation of number of days from 28/4/25 to 30/6/25 : 64 days
28 /04 - 30/04 = 3 days
01/05 - 31/05 = 31 days
01/06 - 30/6 = 30 days
Total = 64 days
Question :
1. Are non working days included in hospitalization leave calculation? Logically since staff is paid monthly salary and already paid on non working days, the number of days calculation should include public holiday and weekend.
a. If inclusive, total hospitalisation leave that staff has taken is 64 days
b. If not inclusive, total hospitalisation leave that staff has taken is 64 - 19 days = 45 days.
Is 1a or 1b correct?
2. Is sick leave and hospitalisation leave treated separately? If 1 day sick leave was taken before, does it count towards the total hospitalisation leave?
a. If treated separately, total hospitalisation leave entitlement remains 60 days
b. If treated together, total hospitalistion leave entitlement becomes 60 days deduct 1 days (sick leave taken before) which is 59 days
4. For the remaining hospitalisation leave that exceeded in the future and staff is undergoing physiotherapy rehabilitation, should it be deducted under sick leave or annual leave or unpaid leave?
Thank you
