Deputy Juan Johnny RuizThe Maricopa County Sheriff s Office MCSO says Deputy Juan Johnny Ruiz was attacked by a suspect Saturday inside a sheriff s office substation. MCSO says Deputy Ruiz was processing multiple arrest warrants for 30-year-old Clinton Robert Hurley, when Hurley attacked him.Deputies say Hurley beat Ruiz unconscious then stole his patrol car. They say the suspect drove through a fence, and abandoned the cruiser before carjacking another vehicle. MCSO says Hurley s escape attempt ended in a gunfight with a homeowner.
